Content Management

In order to keep web maintenance manageable, please do not duplicate information across websites. Each website should only include information that belongs to the UConn entity for which the site is created. Other websites should link to the pertinent page or website as needed.

Examples: The Office of the Registrar maintains the academic calendar. The Office of Student Financial Aid Services maintains the current cost of attendance at UConn. No other department should list the same details on their website. Instead, other sites should link to this information.

Websites must be regularly checked for accurate information, broken links, etc.

Please use statistics and rankings on your websites with caution. If you choose to include such information, set a regular reminder to check for updates, so the numbers are accurate.

Ownership/affiliation with the appropriate University schools/colleges/units must be clearly reflected on the website. See Parent Site Title within the Appearance section. For example, the Gladstein Family Human Rights Institute is part of Global Affairs. This is reflected in the Level Two Title of the website.
